Spendly ("the app") is an expense-tracking app. This page explains what data it collects and how it's used.
Your expenses, categories, and budgets are stored locally on your device using a local database. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to enable cloud sync (below).
If you choose to sign in with your email, Spendly uploads your expense, category, and budget data to a secure cloud database (Google Firebase), keyed to your email address, so it's available if you install the app on a second device. This is entirely optional — the app works fully without signing in. Sign-in uses a passwordless "email link" — Spendly never receives or stores a password.
Spendly uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (e.g. which features are used, how often expenses are logged). This data is aggregated and does not include your expense amounts, notes, or category names — only that an action of a given type occurred.
Spendly shows ads via Google AdMob to support free use of the app. AdMob may use device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and may show personalized ads based on your consent choices. If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Spendly asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can change that choice anytime from Settings → Ad privacy options. On iOS, the app also requests App Tracking Transparency permission, as required by Apple.
You can delete all local data by uninstalling the app. If you've used cloud sync, contact us (below) to request deletion of your synced data.
Spendly is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
